The most Important Book for the New Millennium! This book is filled with the unpublished teachings of Dr. Ernest Holmes, author of the Science of Mind and Founder of the Religious Science movement. As you read this book you feel a sense of sitting in the classroom with Dr. Holmes. His inspiration, enthusiasm and dedication to Truth is infectious! This is a brilliantly edited masterpiece. This book truly illustrates why the Science of Mind is the Philosophy for the New Millennium. No one has given us the Truth of Being as clearly and easily understood as Dr. Holmes since Jesus. Thank you and bless you, Marilyn Leo!!!

excellent stories to build good character and reading skillsi purchased my first mcguffey reader at knotts berry farm in so. cal. After reading several of the stories i was very pleased with the characters who often show valuable lessons to young readers {good character building lessons}. The vocabulary with definitions at the end of each story are essential and a plus. There are also lots of wonderful poems...these readers are well worth the investment. barbara vassar.

McGuffey's second eclectic reader
Published in Unknown Binding by Gordon Press ()
Average review score:

Not just reading lessons! The McGuffey's Revised Second and Third Eclectic Readers combine a number of lessons into one. They can be used for reading comprehension or as copybooks for improving handwriting skills. The numerous poems can be used to improve memory skills. Furthermore, many of the lessons are focused on nature subjects such as birds, insects, farm animals, etc., and will supplement a natural history text for teaching early scientific observation. Most importantly, all the lessons are moral and help to preserve childhood innocence, something that is sorely needed in today's world. Filled with beautiful illustrations, these hardcover textbooks are an outstanding value.

Average review score:

Classic Holmes and Watson! This broadcast was a classic of the OLD TIME RADIO era. Re-mastered for clean audio anyone who is a fan of the Basil Rathbone-Nigel Bruce shows will like this well written mystery. For those new to the old radio programs, you will find this tape far superior to current books on cassette with better acting and sound effects.

Murder in the Casbah and the Tankerville Club
Published in Audio Cassette by Simon & Schuster (Audio) (May, 1999)
Average review score:

A Pleasant PasticheAlthough Edith Meiser was the most prolific author of Holmes radio pastiches, the team of Dennis Green and Anthony Boucher was the best. This collection contains two excellent stories from the pens of Green and Boucher. In "Murder in the Cashbah", Holmes and Watson travel to Africa to ferret out a man falsely accused of murder. "The Tankerville Club" is based upon a case which Conan Doyle briefly mentions in one of the "Conanical" stories. Holmes saves a young man's reputation by exposing a cardshark.
